Remit:
- To offer appropriate resourcing and support at Presbytery and Congregational levels in the promotion of nurturing, worshipping and witnessing communities of faith.
- Without prejudice to the foregoing generality, to provide resources and support –
- in meeting any need for training;
- in promoting Christian education among all age groups; and
- in promoting congregational mission and development.

- To oversee the work of the Presbytery Chaplains, to provide specific support for newly-ordained ministers and to develop further support structures for all ministries.
- To provide day seminars and retreats, to consider study leave applications and to encourage in-service training and Continuing Ministerial Development.
- To encourage those who might be called to a ministry within the kirk.
- To administer the Discernment Process and supervising of candidates for the Ministry of Word and Sacrament, the Diaconate and the Readership.
